About
Ri3D or Robot in 3 Days is a challenge tied to FIRST robotics league. FIRST Robotics Competition is a robotics league in which high school aged students compete. Although we are not high school students, our Ri3D club follows the FRC game rules and guidelines for each year. In this challenge, teams will work towards building an FRC robot in 72 hours. This challenge begins the day of kickoff for the FRC season in early January.
Mission Statement
Ri3D at Penn State will prepare for and host an annual build event to design and construct a functional competitive-concept FIRST Robotics Competition robot in 72 hours. We will thoroughly document and publish our process in order to inspire and inform growing high school FIRST Robotics Competition teams.
We will uphold FIRST’s values of Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun, and support the FIRST community by working alongside local teams and encouraging students to become involved as volunteers and mentors.
We will inspire Penn State students to be engineering leaders and innovators by engaging every active member in a critical part of the preparation and execution of “Robot in 3 Days”
